Course Selection Overview

Course+Selection+Overview

On March 8, course selection opened for the 2023-2024 school year. During Advisory on that Wednesday, students watched a video provided by MT’s counselors detailing how to select courses at the high school. However, course selection can be confusing, so this article will explain how to choose classes for next year and what the major deadlines to keep in mind are.

Course selection ends on Wednesday, March 22, and students can select their classes by logging into their Sapphire account and clicking on the tab titled “Course Request Form” on the left of their screen. They can then click on the purple button that says “Fill out course request form” and toggle the classes as listed on the form. Students may go back in to edit their choices until March 22.

For those that are unsure of what classes are offered at the high school, the Educational Planning Guide (EPG) on MT’s website offers a comprehensive list of all classes with descriptions.

On May 24 students will receive their course verification forms, which confirms course selections for both the first and second semesters of next year. For anyone who is unhappy with their course selection, the drop/add form is linked on the back of the verification form. The drop/add period lasts from May 26 to July 23. Once the form is filled out, students will only hear back from the school if there is a problem. Otherwise, it can be assumed that the problem was fixed.

Any students who still have remaining questions after reading this article should contact their counselor or rewatch the course selection video on their advisory page.
