On Friday, Feb. 13, the MT girls basketball team defeated Cedar Crest 35-31 in the Lancaster-Lebanon League championship at home.

The Streaks were led by sophomore Ciniya Robinson, who scored 18 points, junior Julia Weaver, who scored seven points, and freshman Grace Dumser with four points. The other assisting scorers include junior Aniyah Williams and freshman Emiline Brandt, who had three points each.

Township led 18-15 at half, but Cedar Crest (14-11) trimmed the lead to 22-20 entering the fourth quarter. With Township clinging to a one-point lead late in the fourth quarter, Robinson hit her third three-pointer of the night to give the Streaks a four point lead. They were able to hold off the Falcons from there, winning league gold.

This was the eighth league title in program history for the girls program and its first since 2014. Township (20-4) overall has now won 11 of its past 12 games.

MT’s season came to an end in the first round of the District III playoffs, falling to Central York on Monday, Feb. 16.
