On Saturday, Nov. 1, the Manheim Township varsity boys and girls cross country teams competed in the PIAA State Cross Country Championship in Hershey. They went against teams from all over the state.
Racing in the 3A races, the final score for the girls team was sixth place with a score of 209 points. The boys team placed ninth with a score of 252 points. Both teams placed above all the other District 3 teams. Medalists included Georgia Ealy (22nd place) with a time of 19:27 and Ben Doumaux (22nd place) with a time of 16:33.
The girls team won the Lancaster-Lebanon League Championship and the boys team placed second overall. In addition to securing top finishes in the LL League meet, they also outperformed all other teams at districts. They both won the District 3 Championships. This was the second year in a row for the boys team and the fourth year in a row for the girls team.
