On Friday, Nov. 8, MT football defeated Cumberland Valley 14-7 in the PIAA Class 3A quarterfinals. Charlie Hill started the scoring for the Blue Streaks (10-1) with a 101-yard interception return for a touchdown. A touchdown pass from senior quarterback Carson Weisser to Daryus Dixon made it 14-0 in the third quarter. Cumberland Valley got within a touchdown in the fourth quarter, but Township held on to secure the win.
The top-seeded Streaks will host fifth seed Harrisburg (9-2) in the district semifinals on Friday, Nov. 15 after Harrisburg defeated Dallastown 42-6 in the quarterfinals. This is a rematch of last year’s district championship game.
