MTHS’s kickball club recently had their final game of the year on April 26 during club period. Mr. Donmoyer and Mr. Baker are the club leaders. The club is divided into two teams, Team Donmoyer and Team Baker. The club’s season consists of seven games.

Team Donmoyer won three out of the first four games of the season. Team Baker won games five and six. Game seven was the championship game. At that point in the season, both teams had a 3-3 record.

Team Donmoyer started the game strong with a 2 to 0 lead after the first round of kicking; however their defense was poor and in the end led to their loss. Senior Noah Radcliff led Team Baker with three hits and four RBIs. Senior David Broich also displayed an excellent defensive performance for Team Baker. Team Baker ended up taking the victory with a final score of 11 – 7.

“It was a hard fought game and I was happy to bring the trophy back to room 131,” Radcliff said.

Members of Team Baker, along with Radcliff, include: Ryan Aszmus, AJ Fischer, Max Beecher, David Broich, Josh Hamilton, Ben Troung, JJ Jackson, and Shaun Gaskins.

However, for Mr. Donmoyer’s team, the game didn’t go as planned.

“We only needed to win one of the last three games to win the trophy, but we lost all three by multiple runs” said Donmoyer. “Multiple errors throughout the game cost us runs that could have kept the game close or even swayed in our favor.”

Even though Team Donmoyer lost, “It was a fun game and all around we had a great time,” said senior Devon Hapeman.
