On February 5th, CBS kicked off the 65th Annual Grammy Awards. This ceremony was held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, and recognized some of the best artists, records, and songs of the past year. Full of history-making performances and shocking wins, this year’s Grammy Awards was one of the biggest nights in music history.

Only an hour into the show, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, WanMor, and Chris Stapleton hit the stage with a medley of Motown hits. Next, fresh off a win for best pop vocal album, Harry Styles performed his #1 hit, “As It Was.” Along with more upbeat, lively performances from Bad Bunny, DJ Khaled, and Lizzo, there was also a memorable tribute to three different artists, performed by Kacey Musgraves, Bonnie Raitt, Sheryl Crow, Mick Fleetwood, Quavo, and Maverick City Music. Musgraves kicked off this performance with an elegant acoustic rendition of Loretta Lynn’s “Coal Miner’s Daughter.” Next, Raitt, winner of Song of the Year, and Crow sang a duet to honor Fleetwood Mac’s Christine McVie, while Fleetwood softly played the drums. Finally, Quavo and Maverick City Music honored rapper Migos with a mashup of “Without You” and “See You Again.”

This year’s Grammys made history when Beyoncé, an iconic R&B and pop singer, broke the record for the most wins of any artist in Grammy history, scoring her 32nd award and fourth of the night. She won this title when she was awarded Best Dance/Electronic Music Album for her seventh solo album, RENAISSANCE. Beyoncé took the stage in a shimmering gold and silver gown and delivered a speech thanking her parents, husband, children, and the queer community for inventing the Dance/Electronic genre. Although Beyoncé’s win will go down in history, she is not the only one who won big on February 5th.
