A New Year means new friends, new memories to be made, and new TV shows and movies. Keep reading to find out some of what is in store for 2023.

 

Returning TV Shows:

 

You Season 4

February 9th on Netflix

The fourth and final season of this Netflix show follows Joe Goldberg (played by Penn Badgely) going international after an eventful third season. This drama is sure to draw back old fans as well as attract new ones.

 

Outer Banks Season 3

February 23rd on Netflix

The second season of this Netflix series left off on a cliffhanger. Tune in on February 23rd to reunite with the Pogues and Kooks as they try to navigate the rollercoaster that is their lives.

 

The Mandalorian Season 3

March 1st on Disney Plus

Everyone’s favorite duo is back. Mando and Grogu, more affectionately known as Baby Yoda, return to their action packed adventures. Pro tip: go back and watch the 2022 release The Book of Boba Fett to get the most out of this new season.

 

Shadow and Bone Season 2

March 16th on Netflix

Based on the novels of the same name by Leigh Bardugo, this series is great for fantasy and action lovers. If you want to read the books before watching the new season, don’t worry, you’ve got time.

 

Loki Season 2

Mid-2023 on Disney Plus

Calling all Marvel fans, your favorite God of Mischief is back. Season 1 of Loki picked up after the first Avengers movie and followed Loki to the Time Variance Authority. Now, unlike many other Marvel shows, Loki is coming back for a second season.

 

New TV Shows:

 

Ironheart

Late 2023 on Disney Plus

Dominique Thorne first appeared as child prodigy Ironheart in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, making a name for herself by building her own Iron Man suit. Now, she’s got her own story to tell.

 

Agatha: Coven of Chaos 

2023 on Disney Plus

This WandaVision spinoff will pick up where the original series left off. Agatha Harkness was last seen stranded in Westview, and her story isn’t over yet.

 

Ahsoka

2023 on Disney Plus

This fan-favorite Star Wars character was first brought to life in season 2 of The Mandalorian. Fans of the animated Star Wars shows are sure to be drawn to this life action portrayal of Ahsoka.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

February 17th

One of the bug-named superheroes of the MCU returns for the third installment of the Ant-Man franchise for a trip to the Quantum Realm.

 

Scream VI

March 10th

Horror fans: this one’s for you. The fifth movie of this title features Wednesday’s Jenna Ortega as a scream queen once again.

 

John Wick: Chapter 4

March 24th

Delayed from the pandemic, this movie is finally set to release. Not much is known about it, but John Wick is back again, at war.

 

The Super Mario Bros. Movie

April 7th

This animated movie stars Chris Pratt as everyone’s favorite Italian plumber as he journeys through the Video game-famous Mushroom Kingdom.

 

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

May 5th

Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, and others are back again as Marvel’s famous space crew. If the third installment is anything like the first two, it’s sure to be perfect for action and comedy lovers alike.

 

The Little Mermaid

May 26th

Disney is bringing Ariel to life in this live-action version of the original 1990s film, starring Halle Bailey as Ariel.

 

Barbie

July 21st

The classic Barbie doll is being brought to life, directed by Greta Gerwig of Little Women and starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.

 

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

November 17th

Based on the prequel novel of The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, this movie follows a young President Snow in The Hunger Games universe.
