“One Way Or Another” by Blondie
Why I chose it:
This song is a great classic, but I feel that it needs to be appreciated more. It has an incredibly catchy chorus that’s easy to sing along with, as well as some synthesizers that bring you all the way back to the 80s. It’s an amazingly fun song loaded with charm and allure, so give it another listen.
“One Way Or Another” is the second track on Blondie’s album “Parallel Lines.” It talks about the real life story of Debbie Harry’s stalker, and was a moderate success in 1979. Despite this, it remained a classic. Read more about it at https://genius.com/Blondie-one-way-or-another-lyrics
Indie:
“Ana” by The Pixies
“Ana” is the sixth song on the Pixies album “Bossanova.” This song is actually an anagram for the word “SURFER.” It has a magical chord progression and what their front man Frank Black describes as a “cute little riff.” Read more about it at https://www.songfacts.com/facts/pixies/ana
Why I chose it:
If you need something calm with a catchy sound, this song is for you. Its mix of soft lyrics and guitar riffs are magical. The song is so hypnotic with its different key changes and vocal harmonies. And if you like it, I recommend the others on the Bossanova album! (Velouria, Havalina, Blown Away, and The Happening)

“The Haunting” by Misfits
Why I chose it:
I chose this song because of its raw intensity and the signature haunting vocals it provides. It has such a great and dark rhythm as well as some horror movie imagery. Overall, this song is such a cool gem.
“The Haunting” is the Misfits’ 13th track (which is fitting if you think about it) on their album “American Psycho.” It’s a very lyrically dark and deep song, but it has an overall upbeat rhythm.
