This 2024-2025 school year, MTHS welcomed a new assistant principal, Mrs. Amanda Rhinier. She is an assistant principal for the Career and Technical Certificate Program (CTC) students who belong to the school, while also helping out the athletic department as assistant athletic director.
Rhinier is a Manheim Township alumni. Outside of school, Rhinier is very busy. She is involved with many activities, such as coaching for the Manheim Township Age Group Swim Program (MTAG) and being a pool director at Bent Creek. She has two children, a daughter who dances and a son who plays ice hockey, both of whom she enjoys watching play and supporting them in their sports.
Rhinier taught and also was a principal in the Lebanon School District. She was there for 15 years. Nine were at the middle school, six were at the high school. Rhinier brings with her to Manheim Township a ton of experience and knowledge.
“The short commute to work is a plus. I definitely like the numerous opportunities in sports and academics. I think the athletic world is top notch and then just the numerous opportunities students have here,” Rhinier said.
Rhinier is most proud of the students’ personal growth. Chances for students to be included in numerous activities is extremely important to her when working at Manheim Township.
Rhinier is in charge of the half-day and full-day CTC students, so she travels throughout those three campuses. Another part of her job is helping with any type of assistant principal duties. This is not just a new job for Rhinier, it is new for everybody. Rhinier’s position is not replacing anyone at the school, but rather an addition to our district.
“My number one goal is trying to get to know the students and staff. I’m trying to get to know everyone that’s here and get acclimated to a lot of the programs because I think a majority of them are new,” Rhinier said. “I really hope I’m an outlet for students.”
Rhinier said that connecting with the students and staff here at MTHS is a big goal of hers. She is excited about the various programs offered here. Rhinier hopes to build relationships with students and be a person they can turn to for anything they need.
