On Saturday, Oct. 4, this year’s Homecoming dance took place in the MTHS arena. The theme of the dance was “Out of This World.”

The week leading up to Homecoming was filled with exciting events. There were spirit days, including themes such as pajama day and decades day. There was a pep rally held on Friday, Oct. 3, and the Homecoming football game was later that night.

MTHS student council members decorated the arena and helped to organize the event. They started setting up Friday night and finished the morning of the dance.

“The setup went much smoother than last year,“ said sophomore student council member Bella Del Castillo. “I think all of the students were looking forward to the dance, and we had a lot of fun making the decorations.”

Doors opened at 6 p.m. and the dance ended at 10 p.m., although many students left before the end of the dance. At the event, there was a DJ, photo booth and snacks and water were provided.
