On Thursday, Oct. 9, the Manheim Township girls volleyball team faced Penn Manor at home. The match was also their annual “Spike Out Cancer” game, which is a tradition that promotes breast cancer awareness. All players wore pink jerseys and raised money for the cause with several themed fundraiser baskets. It was also Township’s youth night where they recognized the players and coaches for the Middle School and Landis Run volleyball program.
Township won the first, second and fourth sets, ultimately leading to a 3-1 win over Penn Manor. The win improved their record to 12-1 while Penn Manor fell to 7-9.
The team’s final regular season game was on Monday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m. against Hempfield Senior High School at home, where they won a share of the L-L League Section 1 title.
