On Thursday, Feb. 13, the MT girls basketball team faced the top seeded Lebanon Cedars in the Lancaster-Lebanon League championship game at Manheim Township High School. The Streaks lost 46-33.
Brooke Weaver was the leading scorer for Township with 11 points and closely followed by Liv Palmer with 8. Kailah Correa led the way for Lebanon with 22 points.
According to Parmer, her team changed strategies throughout the game.
“We went from focusing on defending full court aggressively to making more calculated risks because of foul trouble in the second half,” she said.
Parmer also said that she was proud of her team regardless of the loss.
“I was very proud of the team and how well we did throughout the game. No one expected us to be there and we gave it our all,” she said.
Township (19-6) proceeded to play and defeat Penn Manor 49-25 in the first round of the District 3 playoffs on Monday. They will face Lebanon in a rematch of the L-L League title game in the second round of the district playoffs on Thursday at 7 p.m. in Lebanon.
