Grover Cleveland did so in 1892. This cartoon uses one of George Bush’s famous Bushisms. The popular saying really goes “Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.” President Bush didn’t quite get there and ended up creating a word salad for the ages.

His promises to deport millions of immigrants as well as his plans to eliminate the Department of Education as well as the foundations the middle class was built upon could lead to a chaotic and unstable society that we have not yet seen since the Civil War. Uncle Sam is a national icon that arose during World War I to get citizens to join the war effort. He is seen mourning the American experiment in this cartoon.

President Jimmy Carter, known for his kindness, his compassion and his deep held religious beliefs passed away at the age of 100 at his home in Plains, Georgia. His funeral was held on Jan. 9 and saw every living President as well as many other politicians and celebrities attend. He is depicted with a halo over his head due to his reputation of being one of the most moral presidents in our country’s history.
