On Tuesday, Jan. 21, the MTHS Swim and Dive Team celebrated senior night with two wins against Ephrata. The girls won 118-65 and the boys won 97-83.
Cole Stevens was a top performer on the boys team, winning the 100 meter backstroke. The MTHS boys divers boosted the score with freshman Tyler Scolnick scoring 6s and 7s thanks to his well-performed dives.
Delaney Connors was a top performer for the girls team, winning both 200 and 500 freestyle. Senior diver Savannah Reed also added many points to the team with a final score of 163.00.
According to senior Brayden Pyott, it was a positive win for the team because of Ephrata’s talented swimmers.
“We knew that Ephreta had some great swimmers on their team but we didn’t let that scare us,” he said. “It was a little nerve racking at some points because the boys team score was very close to Ephrata.”
Township’s next meet is on Tuesday, Jan. 28 against Hempfield as they continue to fight to keep their winning streak.
