In 1960, our last President, former general Dwight D. Eisenhower, warned us about the Military Industrial Complex and its disastrous impacts on American life. We have forgotten and not heeded his warning. This cartoon is a commentary on the Harris/Walz campaign’s seemingly uninterested stance on finding peace in the world. By aligning herself with hawks or those who actively seek out war and conflict like Dick and Liz Cheney, Harris is showing us where her true foreign policy objectives lie, and it is not for a permanent peace.
This cartoon starts with quotes from three Democratic icons. From right to left: 32nd President Franklin Roosevelt, 35th President John F Kennedy and 36th President Lyndon Johnson. Each President has a significant quote that has stuck with them through the decades. Vice President Harris is depicted with one of her famous word salad quotes. Harris has become known for talking in circles and repeating herself in an incoherent manner. This is a commentary on how far we have fallen from the great orators of the past, even President Obama, for example, to the mediocre orations of the present political class on all sides.

This cartoon is simply a commentary on the lack of genuineness in the modern Democratic Party. The Democratic Party, and by extension the Harris/Walz campaign, is not serving quite as the opposition to the Republican Party and the Trump/Vance campaign many supporters would like. This leads America to continue down the path of voting for the lesser of two evils rather than an individual or campaign that truly represents their beliefs. We currently have a uniparty in America. Both the Democratic and Republican parties respectively are not beholden to us the people rather they are beholden to big business and the corporate titans and lobbyists. These powers pay hefty sums of money for their reelection bids and in turn the parties and politicians align with their interests rather than the peoples’.
