With 840 million dogs and cats kept as pets across the globe, which one is the best? In a biased world, how can we ever come to an agreement? You can wonder no more because I have rated them for you! I received 49 responses, yet I could only pick 10 winners.
The most common pet people have is either a dog or cat which is why they have their own category! The cutest dog or cat had a whopping 38 responses, but there was one that stood out to me: Lily and Zoe Babione’s cat, Ginny!
Ginny may be the fluffiest cat I’ve ever seen; she’s practically a cloud. Seriously adorable.
On the other hand, there are definitely some ugly pets. I mean, not every animal can be adorable and that’s okay. Eleven people clearly agreed with that statement. The ugliest dog or cat award has to go to Maggie Mumma’s dog, Trooper!
Trooper is a cutie… in his own right, but please get him some eye drops. He definitely looks unhappy to be here.
However, there are more animals in the world than just dogs and cats. I personally love a fluffy rabbit. That’s why the winner of cutest non-cat or dog goes to Tayler Herr’s rabbit, Chicken Nugget!
While I think the name is unfitting since he’s wearing a hot dog costume, this little bunny is just too cute! I wanna squish it.
Maybe I made a mistake with this next category: Most Outlandish. I got 12 submissions, yet all of them were dogs or cats. In my humblest opinion, those aren’t outlandish at all. However, one did stick out to me with his stylish bling… Congratulations to Tristan Dibb’s dog Chance!
I wonder if he’s ever seen Shrek or if he just likes the color green? Either way, he’s definitely an odd guy.
There is a stigma in our society that the smartest animals are humans. I would argue differently. Some household pets are more emotionally and intellectually intelligent than any of us. That’s why the smartest pet award goes to Brayden Pyott’s dog, Samson!
Samson won not just because of his glasses, but also his humanity; he’s practically a four-legged human. He can open doors, tell time and is incredibly empathetic. At this rate, he might as well get his piloting license or attend law school.
So, if humans aren’t the smartest animals, then are they the dumbest? Also false because Ella Hodge’s cat, Leo, may be the dumbest guy I’ve ever seen.
Leo may have little to no brain; you can tell by the look in his eyes. From the way he sits to the lack of thought, Leo has to be the dumbest pet at Township.
There are also some very scary animals out there! Like hornets, anglerfish, black windows and Ky Miller’s cat, Kiwi!
I feel like I’d wake up to her staring at me from the foot of my bed. I mean, look at those glowing eyes.
And of course, there is always the pet that just looks good no matter what. It’s like that one friend who just always looks the best in group photos. Thank you to Andrea Warren for blessing our eyes with her dog Shabby Jo!
Despite his name, Shabby Jo is the opposite of shabby. He could definitely model if he wanted to.

This is Wrinkles and I fell in love the moment I saw this cat. He is most definitely wrinkly and I have now shown this photo to all my friends and family. Overall best pet goes to this freaky guy!
