The Manheim Township Varsity girls volleyball team has ended their regular season with a 14-2 record. They had a record of 2-1 during the league playoffs. The team has accomplished a total of 208 aces out of 1,917 serves. Their serving accuracy is 92%, meaning only 8% of serves were errors. Senior Gracie Reinhart is one of the team’s three senior captains. She has the highest number of aces on the varsity team this year, with 45.
There have been 2,487 attack attempts this season and 978 of those were kills on the opponent team. Senior Emily Edlemen has the best attack accuracy. She plays the middle position, requiring her to attack and block. Out of her 414 attack attempts, 231 of those were kills and only 50 were errors. She also currently maintains the greatest amount of solo blocks and block assists. Edlemen has earned 17 out of the team’s 33 solo blocks and 43 out of the team’s 178 block assists.
Defensively, 46% of the team’s passes during serve receive were considered 3/3 or “perfect passes.” Sara Lehman, the team’s libero and captain, has added 211 perfect passes to the team’s total of 596.
Township finished as the league runner up and will host Waynesboro in the first round of district playoffs on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m.
