On May 17, the Manheim Township Student Council held its annual Clash of the Classes at the stadium. The event ran from 7-9 p.m. and was free to attend. Games, snacks and other entertainment were provided for students of all classes. Additionally, students from different schools were welcome at the event, unlike last year’s event.
T-shirts were sold at lunch for the event, with each class getting a different color. Freshmen were orange, sophomores were blue, juniors were green and seniors were pink. Students could wear their class shirts to the event to show their spirit. Each shirt was $10, with the money going to the student council.
The event traditionally happens after school on the last day for seniors, but it was changed this year to be a night event due to the “crazy May schedule,” according to student council advisor Mr. Kranch. He also said that not much had changed from previous years other than the time.
Many clubs ran activities at Clash of the Classes. Some were specific to the club, but others were just fun games or competitions. Additionally, a few of the clubs had information on what they do. There were contests between classes, bouncy houses and even free food.
