At MT, there are four principals, including one main principal and three assistant principals. In this article, we’ll highlight Ms. Rakoczy, one of the assistant principals.
What aspects of the school are you most involved in?
“One of my biggest tasks of the year is organizing Keystone testing, but there are a lot of other things I do like supporting our teachers and students, as well as helping to make sure the daily operations run smoothly.”
What kind of students do you work with?
“I primarily work with students with the last names of A-Ha, but we all work together to make sure everyone is taken care of.”
What were you like in high school?
“I tried to stay hidden as much as possible! I was an ok, but not great student. I was in orchestra and chorus, but had friends in a lot of random groups.”
Why did you choose to become a high school principal?
“I was lucky enough to have some really amazing principals in my career and I wanted to support staff and students in the ways that they did.”
What is a typical day like for you?
“Our days are never the same. I can plan my day and have it go out the window based on student or teacher needs, so flexibility and a sense of humor are important.”
How do you think students perceive you?
“Hopefully they think I am fair and helpful.”
How would you like to be perceived by the students and staff?
“I hope people feel that I am dependable and willing to listen and problem solve.”
