On Thursday, Jan. 11, MTHS hosted Midterm Madness for freshmen to study for their upcoming midterms. National Honor Society members and Link Crew Leaders helped freshmen review. Hot cocoa and cookies were served throughout the event.
Mrs. Eshelman, Mrs. Zeigler, Mrs. Deibler, Mr. Houck and Mrs. Sweeney organized the event. This is the eighth year that Manheim Township has hosted Midterm Madness for freshmen.
“It was awesome to see our upperclassmen working with freshmen, sharing strategies for preparing for midterms and their expertise in the content areas,” said Eshelman. “Everyone loved the cookies and hot cocoa for a snack as they studied, and I was really impressed with the productive atmosphere the students created.”
Alyssa Forman was one of the many students who volunteered at Midterm Madness. She focused on helping the freshmen study science, specifically chemistry.
“I think tutoring in general is pretty rewarding,” she said. “I like working with kids.”
