With winter break comes lots of downtime in between seeing family and celebrating the holidays. So, if you’ve been trying to find something fun, here are five things to do over winter break.
One activity is ice skating. One of the best places to skate is Lancaster Ice Rink. Public skating is open Wednesdays and Fridays 12 PM to 1:30 PM, Tuesdays and Thursdays 10 AM to 11:30 AM as well as 4 PM to 6 PM, Saturdays 12 PM to 2 PM and 7:15 PM to 9:15 PM, and Sundays 2 PM to 4 PM. All public skating between Dec. 26 and Dec. 31 will have an entry fee of $10 and a $5 skate rental fee if choosing to rent skates.
Another activity to do over winter break is look at Christmas lights. If your neighborhood is more festive and it’s not too cold, you could walk around your neighborhood to look at the lights. You can also choose the more comfortable option to go on a drive and look at lights. You might even find displays around your area worth stopping by, some even being interactive by syncing up with radio stations.
Speaking of holiday lights, The Christmas Spirit Light Display, a mile-long drive-thru display, is at Clipper Magazine Stadium until Dec. 31. Tickets are per vehicle: $25 for up to eight passengers and $35 for nine passengers or more.
Something fun to do after the holidays is go shopping. If you celebrate any holiday that includes receiving gifts or money, you might get gift cards over break. If you like shopping and you’re bored over break, you can go over to Park City Mall or King of Prussia and go on a shopping spree.
If you favor staying in and relaxing during the break over going out, there are also some fun things for you to do too. A movie or TV series marathon is a great way to relax. Pick your favorite show to watch on TV, lay on your couch, and enjoy.
