This Tuesday, Nov. 7, PA residents will cast their ballots for positions ranging from state level Supreme court justices to local municipal roles, including the school board. MT has five seats and 10 candidates, with five Democrats and five Republicans. The candidates for 2023 are Republicans Michaela Adcock, David Burnett, Keith Krueger, Tess Vo Wallace and Michael Zimmerman, and Democrats Mark Boldizar, Patrick Grenter, Terrance Henderson, JoAnn Hentz and Sara Woodbury.
Though each candidate’s campaign was separate from the others, many of them focused on the same issues according to their party affiliation. In their statements, four of the five republican candidates mentioned the word “transparency.” They emphasized the importance of involving parents in their child’s education and providing even more “transparency” to parents. The major issue that every single democratic candidate mentioned was their opposition to book banning and protecting students’ right to read from “political extremism.” Every school board candidate highlighted that their goals were all to benefit the students and community, all expressing deep care for the betterment of MT.
