On Thursday, Sept. 25, the Manheim Township cross country teams beat Hempfield at home. In a pre-meet ceremony, 19 seniors were recognized for their commitment on the cross country team.
The 11 seniors on the girls team are Winnie Allen, Kaila Atteberry, Georgia Ealy, Ella Himelfarb, Maeve Kahler, Lexie Kauffman, Riley McGahren, Caroline Nachtigall, Joanna Reiff, Emma Slachta and Lauren Weeks.
The eight seniors on the boys team are Justin Blose, Collin Bube, Josh Henshaw, Cole Kauffman, Luke Oles, Luke Reinking, Luke Welsh and James Wenger.
The Township girls’ team secured a perfect team score of 15, while Hempfield’s was 48. For the boys team, Township’s final score was 18, while Hempfield’s was 41.
The team spread for Township’s girls team was 1:36, with an average time of 20:26. The boy’s team was 1:30, with an average time of 17:17.
The next meet for the cross country team is on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at the Ephrata Middle School Cross Country Course at 1:30 p.m.
