Friday, May 9 marks the annual Manheim Township High School‘s Cabaret, presented by Tri-M. Cabaret is a form of entertainment that combines music, dancing, and storytelling into an exciting show. In the multiple hour performance, students have the opportunity to perform their talents for the enjoyment of their peers and others who attend.
In past years, the cabaret has mainly showcased the musical talents of Township students with soloists, duets, bands and jazz bands dominating the event. However, the cabaret is not restricted solely to musical performances, as it showcases any and all talents. Juggling, dancing, acting and storytelling and more are all exhibited. One can even audition to be a host and demonstrate their public speaking skills and comedic timing.
Junior Gabby Müller Melo, who performed in the cabaret last year, shares her love of the event. “Last year was really fun being able to watch some people come out of their shell and put themselves out there to go up on the stage and perform a solo. The environment of Cabaret is just light hearted and fun which makes it a place where people are given this confidence that normally I don’t see, which was great.”
If you are interested in auditioning, whether to perform or host, check out the posters hanging around the school for the QR code. Auditions are due by April 25 at 11:59pm.
