Inspired by Forrest Day’s song “Sleepwalk”
I wake up at one A.M.
Sleepless, I went to get a drink.
As I walk, I hear a slam.
I turn, and my sister peers over with a blink.
I glanced back at the counter, which had been replaced.
I look to see a bed, waiting peacefully.
The bed turned, which faced, It begged for me to sleep, deceitfully.
I do, and I wake in horror.
I check the clock, 2 A.M.
I shake my head, thinking to before.
The clock changes to 2:03, before I hear a bam.
