As you may know, Chappell Roan has recently released a new Billboard hot single “The Giver.” After her global hit “Good Luck Babe,” her fame continues to soar as she reached No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs Chart while also making No. 5 on the Top 100.
This is her first time fully dipping into the genre of country music. “It is def a bold and scary move to release a full a— country song after only releasing one song last year and it having such a success in the pop genre … (like I am very scared as I type this lol),” she posted on Instagram after releasing the song. “But I think that’s the entire point of Chappell Roan. Be bold and scary and have fun.”
Nothing can top the marketing strategy she took to promote her song. Through billboard and poster advertisements, she shows herself as a dentist, a lawyer, a plumber, a construction worker, a detective and, my favorite, an HVAC specialist. These signs all had the same tagline on them, “I get the job done.” Along with that were other phrases that went along with the profession she was portraying, like “Your Ex’s Worst Nightmare” for a lawyer and “Dental Dams Aren’t Just For Dentists” for a dentist.
This single has been stuck in many people’s heads for the last week. Well, at least mine; and that’s the sign of a good catchy song. Roan has made it quite clear that she doesn’t do things halfway, and this country song is proof of that. With tribute to her experience of growing up in Willard, Missouri, she exceptionally captures the essence of a true country song.
She has proved that she really can do every genre and get the job done. If you haven’t already, give it a listen.
